How to get to Nusa Penida from Bali for a snorkeling trip

Nusa Penida is 45 minutes by fast boat from Sanur on Bali's east coast. Here is how to make it work for a morning snorkeling trip.

From Sanur Harbour

Fast boats leave Sanur from about 07:00, roughly every 30–60 minutes through the morning. The crossing takes 40–50 minutes depending on the sea. Boats land at Banjar Nyuh (our harbour) or Toya Pakeh, ten minutes away by car.

• For the 09:30 Manta Bay trip, take a fast boat leaving Sanur by 08:00.
• For the 09:00 Manta Point trip, take the 07:00 or 07:30 boat.
• For the 14:00 Manta Bay trip, any morning boat works.

Returning to Bali

The last fast boats leave Nusa Penida between 16:00 and 17:00. Both the 2-hour and 3-hour trips return in time for the afternoon boats. If you would rather not think about any of this, book the West Nusa Penida Full Day, which includes the return fast boat ticket.

Hotel pickup

For guests in Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu, Ubud, Uluwatu or Nusa Dua we can send a car to your hotel at 06:00–06:30, charged per car for up to six people. It is the least stressful way to make the early boat.

Staying on Nusa Penida

If you are staying on the island, we collect from any accommodation at 08:30 with the on-island transfer, or you can take a scooter or taxi to Banjar Nyuh Harbour — 15 minutes before departure is plenty.
